Version 50 of Lethal Company was released to the public beta on Steam on 31 March 2024.

Version 50 is by far the largest update to Lethal Company so far and includes the new moons; Artifice, Adamance and Embrion, the Butler and the Old Bird.

Added Content

  • Added the Tulip Snake as a new entity.
  • Added the Spike Trap as a new map hazard.
  • Added a cinematic that plays when the game is opened for the first time after the update.
  • Added the Butler and the Old Bird entities.
  • Added the new moons; Artifice, Adamance, Embrion and Liquidation.
  • Added the Easter Egg.
  • Added the Knife as an alternative weapon to the shovel.
  • Added the Disco Ball.

Gameplay Changes

  • The Bunker Spider's power level was reduced from 3 to 2.
  • Bunker Spider movement speed at full health increased from 4.3 to 4.4.
  • Bunker Spider movement speed at 2 health increased from 4.56 to 4.58.
  • Bunker Spider movement speed at 1 health increased from 5 to 5.04.
  • The Baboon Hawk's power level was decreased from 1 to 0.5.
  • The Baboon Hawk's HP was decreased from 4 to 6.
  • The Baboon Hawk's attack damage decreased from 30 to 20.
  • Baboon Hawk spawn probability curve adjusted.
  • The weight of the Stop Sign was increased from 21 lb to 24 lb.
  • The weight of the Shovel was increased from 8 lb to 16 lb.
  • The random timer the Jester awaits before it starts winding was reduced from 25s - 42s to 13s - 21s (multiplayer only).
  • The Jetpack's explosion damage radius was reduced from 7 units to 6 units.
  • The Whoopie-Cushion's value max value was increased from 6c - 20c to 6c - 36c.
  • The Whoopie-Cushion is no longer conductive.
  • Taking an Apparatus will now activate all Old Birds on the map.
  • Shotguns are now consistently worth 60c.
  • Assurance can now be foggy.
  • The thickness of the fog during foggy weather is now dependent on the seed and can vary on each moon.
  • Bees now leave the map at 11:57 PM (ship leave time) instead of 11:36 PM.
  • Two new causes of death were added; Burning and Stabbing.
  • Baboon Hawks now have the chance to spawn in nests and in groups.
  • The Forest Giant can now be killed (30 HP).
  • The Forest Giant can die to the Old Bird's missiles.
  • Nutcrackers are now able to detect player movement in addition to rotation.
  • Slope physics have been changed, movement speed now depends on the steepness of the terrain.
  • The Jetpack's deceleration was decreased from 75 to 50.

Map Changes

  • Dine map changes
    • Dine's outdoor terrain was completely reworked.
    • Its minimum scrap amount was increased from 20 to 22.
    • Its max indoor power was increased from 15 to 16.
    • Its minimum landmine count was decreased from 7 to 0 and average landmine count was decreased from 17 to 8.
    • Its minimum turret count was decreased from 3 to 0 and average landmine count was decreased from 6 to 3.
    • Its map size multiplier was increased from 1.3 to 1.8.
    • Can now be rainy.
  • Titan map changes
    • Its minimum scrap amount was increased from 23 to 28.
    • Its maximum scrap amount was decreased from 36 to 31.
    • Its indoor map size multiplier was reduced from 2.3 to 2.2.
  • Rend map changes
    • Its map size multiplier was increased from 1.2 to 1.8.

Bug Fixes

  • The Crouch-sprinting mechanic has been removed.
  • The Nutcracker “crouch cheese” has been removed.
  • The “Near Activity” notice on the main entrance now also works for non-hosting players.
  • The Jester Forcefield™ has been removed.
  • The Jetpack fall damage bug was fixed.

Introduced Bugs

  • Daytime entities are currently limited to one per cycle, meaning every moon can only spawn one bee hive at max.

Gameplay Changes

  • Mask Hornets maximum movement speed decreased from 8.25 to 6.8.
  • Knife attack speed increased from 2.5 to 2.7.

  • Bunker Spider movement speed at 2 health increased from 4.56 to 4.58.
  • Bunker Spider movement speed at 1 health increased from 5 to 5.04.
  • The Adamance bridge now has its own bridge trigger system.

Update 2 (4. April)

Added Content

  • Added the spike roof trap as new indoor map hazard.

Gameplay Changes

  • Mask Hornet's roaming movement speed decreased from 5 to 4.
  • Mask Hornet's chase movement speed changed from static 5 to ramping to 6.8 (+0.4/tick).
  • The Butler now has a berserk state that lasts for 8 seconds after hitting it.
  • The Knife's attack speed has been reverted from 2.7 to 2.5.
  • The Baboon Hawk's HP has been decreased from 6 to 4.
  • Old Birds changes.
    • Gun aim rotation speed decreased from 80 to 40.
    • Missile shot cooldown increased from 4 to 4.75.
    • Missile cooldown refresh rate decreased from 1 to 0.3 when not aiming gun.
    • Missile cooldown refresh rate increased from 0.92 to 1.5 when aiming gun.
    • Missile speed decreased from 0.3 to 0.5.
    • Spawn probability curve has been adjusted.
  • Titan map changes.
    • Minimum scrap amount increased from 23 to 24.

  • Indoor map hazards now properly spawn away from walls.

Update 3 (6. April)

Gameplay Changes

  • The Baboon hawk's attack damage decreased from 30 to 20.
  • The Baboon Hawk's spawn probability curve adjustments.
  • Butler changes.
    • HP increased from 1 to 2 (single player).
    • Berserk item change speed multiplier increased from 3x to 6x.
    • Stealth stab chance increased from 30% to 86%.
  • The Jester's follow-timer set to 25s - 42s (single player).
  • The Old Bird's targeting now depends on target visibility.
    • The target is ignored if the visibility is smaller than 0.2 or the visibility is smaller than 0.58 and the target is at least 30 units away.
  • The Old Bird's spawn probability curve adjustments.
  • Chance to start with lights off increased from ~8% to ~15%.
  • Spike traps now have a red light attached to them.
  • Bunny suit now makes a sound when jumping.

  • Easter egg item value now properly counts towards the total scrap found.

Update 4 (12. April)

Added Content

  • Added the Tulip Snake as a new entity.
  • New cause of death was added: Fan.

Gameplay Changes

  • Butlers can now be killed in one hit with the Knife.
  • The Butler's health increased from 3 to 8 (multiplayer)
  • The Mask Hornets' attack now does 40 damage in multiplayer and 20 in single player (before: 10).
  • The Mask Hornets now have ramping movement speed. Max is 10 for multiplayer and 5 for single player.
  • The Jester's follow timer increased from 13s - 18s to 13s - 21s (multiplayer).
  • The Jetpack's acceleration speed decreased from 10 to 2.
  • The Jetpack's deceleration decreased from 75 to 45.
  • The Knife's attack speed was decreased from 2.5 to 2.
  • The Knife's sell value changed from 28c - 83c to a fixed 35c.
  • The Shotgun's sell value decreased from 45 to 25.
  • Ammo sell value decreased from 30 to 15.
  • Falling out of bounds on a challenge moon now causes the employee to die.
  • Old Birds now causes less screen shake when landing.
  • Spike Traps within 7 units of an entrance have their the minimum slam interval set to 1.25s.
  • Spike Traps now halt for 0.5 seconds, when an employee enters / leaves the Facility.
  • Spike Traps now all have slightly different SFX due to random pitching.

    • Maximum Scrap amount decreased from 16 to 15.
    • Can now spawn Spike Traps (min: 0, max: 2, avg: 1).

Update 5 (13. April)

Gameplay Changes

  • The Jetpack changes from v50 Update 4 have been mostly reverted.
    • Acceleration speed has been reverted from 2 to 10.
    • Deceleration speed has been increased from 45 to 50.
  • Mask Hornets damage has been reverted to 10.
  • Mask Hornets movement speed changes.
    • Chasing movement speed decreased from 10 to 5.4 (5 -> 4.25 in single player).
    • Roaming movement speed drcreased from 4 to 3.
    • Movement speed is now decaying faster when losing LOS.
  • The Knife's attack speed has been increased from 2 to 2.33.
  • The Shotgun's value has been increased from 25c to 60c.
  • Removed Ammo from list of sellable scrap (used to be worth 15c).
  • Chance to start with lights off decreased from ~15% to ~8% (reverted to v49).
  • The Spike Trap now waits for 1.2s instead of 0.5s before slamming, after someone has left the Facility.
  • The Tulip Snakes's spawn count falloff curve has been adjusted.
  • Adamance map changes.
    • Average Landmine amount decreased from 9 to 7.
    • Maximum Turret amount decreased from 15 to 12.
    • Indoor spawn chance curve adjusted.
  • Artifice map changes.
    • Daytime deviation decreased from 6 to 5.
    • Can now spawn Spike Traps (min: 0, max: 5, avg: 3)
    • Can now spawn Tulip Snakes.
    • Daytime spawn chance curve adjusted.

Bug Fixes

  • The Butler now properly dies to a single Knife hit (single and multi player).
  • The Flower Snake's flapping audio now properly stops when it dies.
